How to upgrade your blackberry operating system



You want to upgrade your blackberry to the latest operating system? Or your blackberry display error 507 during booting or your blackberry restarts continuously, then this tutorial is for you.
Below are easy steps you can use to solve these problems

Things you will need

  1. Blackberry phone with fully charged battery
  2. Usb cable
  3. Blackberry Desktop manager
  4. Firmware for your blackberry device

Before you continue, you need to make an backup of your blackberry device using the desktop manager

If you are using window xp you must upgrade to service pack 3 and download the following softwares before you can install this desktop manager 6.0.1 on your computer system.

Firmware for blackberry can be downloaded here


If the firmware for your mobile phone is not here goto www.google.com and type the the model of your blackberry with firmware download links for download of your firmware will be brought from you various search




After you have installed installed both the desktop manager and the firmware use the following steps to upgrade your blackberry to the firmware you installed in your system

  1. Delete the vendor.xml file in the applications folder, use the pictures below to locate the files

Navigate to local disk c:

To programfiles


To common files


To research in motion folder


To apploader folder



Inside this folder delete Vendor.xml file


  1. Double click on appsloader after the vendor.xml file has been deleted to start the upgrading process


 
  1. Now after this screen click on next you will get this screen



  1. At this screen connect your blackberry to your computer system with your usb cable inserted with or without battery it will detect your blackberry device
          


  1. Following the onscreen instruction, select the applications you want to be installed on  your blackberry click next

  1. After the process has been completed disconnect your blackberry from your system and wait, it will take a much longer time to boot than usual because it is the first time a new operating system is been booted on your blackberry.


As at the time I made this tutorial I do not have any blackberry so screenshots could not be taken, when I upgrade any blackberry I will post the screenshots hope this tutorial has helped you
